Create a Nomadesk account, create a vault, and you have a secure, efficient, and convenient way of storing, backing up, and sharing files via the cloud. Nomadesk works in a similar fashion as Dropbox. When you drag and drop files into your Nomadesk vault, they will be synced and backed up to the cloud. And once your data is in the cloud, it can be easily shared with others.

The Nomadesk installer is about 14MB in size. Download it, run it, and a setup wizard will help you install the application on your Windows-powered machine – anything from Windows XP SP3 up to Windows 8. Once the installation completes you will be invited to create a Nomadesk account and create your first vault. The nice thing here is that setting things up will not take long.

Once you’re done with installing the application, creating your account, and creating your first vault, you will be presented with a 3-step Getting Started guide. It informs you of the following:
Step 1 – drag or save files from your computer into your vault which can be found in the devices section of Windows Explorer. These files will be synced and backed up in the cloud.
Step 2 – once your files are in the cloud they are ready for sharing, sending, and collaborating. You can share entire file vaults with a person or a group, you can send a link to view and download the contents of a folder, and you can send a link to download a file.
Step 3 – alongside the Nomadesk desktop client, a myNomadesk online account has been created. This account allows you to manage billings, payments, users, and permissions.

Access to all the functionality Nomadesk has to offer is done via a very simple dashboard. It can also be done via the right click context menu. Yes, Nomadesk integrates with Windows Explorer. Not only will you see your Nomadesk vaults in Windows Explorer, you will also see special Nomadesk entries when you right click a file or folder.

Speaking about functionality, here’s a quick look at Nomadesk’s main features: encrypted local drive, TheftGuard, automatic sync, sync and backup files and folders, share files and folders, retains 14 daily backups of your Vaults, access control, widget for your website or blog, mobile apps, and more.

Nomadesk is free to use for a trial period of 14 days. You will have an additional 14 days before your data will be removed completely.

Nomadesk addresses several of your needs: your need to back up your data, your need to seamlessly access your data, and your need to share data with others.
